I had a problem. A small problem. A problem that kept nagging at me.

What was irritating me was when I would sit outside on the metal outdoor bench, when I would get up in bench would jump up slightly from the one side. I wondered how I could fix this problem. What could I use to stop the wobbling?

I gave it some thought about couldn’t come up with anything that was an elegant solution. Sure, you can find something in your house to stop a table or chair leg from wobbling but will it be unnoticeable and effective? You don’t want to continually have to get bits of plastic or other material and keep putting it under the bench leg. How do you decide whether to invest in a new product or not?

The business adviser used estimates for the best-case-scenario revenue impact. He found out the following information – the percentage of the existing customer base that would be prospective buyers of the new product, what percentage would realistically buy, and what would be the maximum price that could be realistically charged? Businesses that don’t keep their promises to customers get away with it but at their own peril

On Christmas morning we went down to the beach at Muizenberg for a swim. The water was lovely and cool and enjoyable beyond measure. Afterwards, we all felt a bit peckish from the sun, sea and sand and went up to a small restaurant for some calamari, chips and coffee. The coffee was all right but the chips and calamari were nothing really to speak about. In fact, the calamari was tasteless. It was so easy to spot the fault with the calamari. It had been soaked in meat tenderiser to make it soft which had left the calamari tasteless.
