Whoever voted for this corrupt government deserves what they get. Just look at the photograph: a stark sign of corruption. What you see is shameful — a disgraceful display of neglect, destruction, and the vandalism of public property.
To allow such a structure to fall into ruin for years is unacceptable. And it’s especially appalling considering that this railway station is located in a prime tourist area in Cape Town.
This is your government. You voted for it.
Through your vote, you aided and abetted these corrupt, criminal individuals.
The government you chose is the one you deserve.
There is no excuse for corruption. It is never acceptable — not in any society, anywhere in the world.
Yet, you thought voting for this government was clever. You believed they would keep their promises. More fool you.
It is deeply distressing that in a province striving to uphold the rule of law, we must still live with these stark — some would even say chilling — reminders of a corrupt, criminal national government. And it continues to act with impunity.
This is, sadly, a broken country. Broken by the very government you voted for.
And let it be known: the corruption, the criminality, the neglect — none of it has ceased. Minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, your government continues to loot and plunder.
Isn’t that sad?
Isn’t that tragic?
Mercifully, there remains a tiny minority who still believe in the rule of law. A few who still care about maintaining and repairing public property. But all of you looked the other way.
