Before getting into some insight, let’s look at the current situation.

Mr Big Mouth has a loudhailer in his hand and is proposing all sorts of pie-in-the-sky solutions to the power crisis.
The Red Clan is bending over backwards to please its unsavoury friends. Any state from the old red regimes are revered, including the rogue neighbour nation that has led all its citizens into poverty.
As much as one can decipher from the current situation, it’s interesting to look at the possibility of international sanctions for a country that has been forced into failing at everything through misrule and corruption.
The country has been greylisted by global financial crime watchdog the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). This is for not fully complying with international standards for the prevention of money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing.
It is already is a form of international sanction.
The government’s close relationship with Russia could have economic consequences. The country may lose the benefits of its inclusion in the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). AGOA allows Sub-Saharan countries to export products to the United States without tariffs. South Africa contributes the majority of AGOA exports at more than 50%.
State capture is now in a new form. First it was the Indians who escaped. Now the country has been captured by the Russian state.
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has warned of dire consequences should the country face censure due to its stance on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
BusinessTech reports that at worst, secondary or indirect sanctions could be imposed on the country. This could lead to a sudden halt to capital inflows and increased outflows, the bank said in its latest financial stability review published on Monday.
“It cautioned that South Africa’s financial system would be unable to function if its ability to make international payments in dollars was impeded.”
This development increases the possibility of trade sanctions.
Elon Musk’s Starlink, the world’s first and largest satellite constellation to deliver broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, online gaming, video calls and more, is unlikely to be available in the country. This is because the official criminals want to want to capture the service and feed off it like pigs at the trough.
These corrupt officials also do not want to disrupt their cronies in the behemoth data providers who are milking consumers dry as they rake in disgustingly high profits from data costs.
This situation is laughable because it is a form of self-imposed sanctions on the country.
No one wants sanctions of any kind. They undermine the economy, status of the country and cause ordinary people suffering and hardship.
Certainly, decent, well regulated countries will be watching this country closely. Sanctions can take various forms. But in the end they worsen the situation for all citizens.
The revered rogue neighbor state clearly shows how people can be driven into grinding poverty because of unlawful and immoral behaviour by the so-called state and it’s corrupt power elite.
Mr, Ms and Mrs Big Corrupt Elite unfortunately will continue to run things as they want and make a bigger and bigger mess of it. Arrogance, spite and a couldn’t-care-less attitude will harm all the frogs in the big pot, except those hiding behind the puppet Mr Frog Pot Boiler.
Look, there is a lot of gaslighting going on, especially from financial planners who stand to benefit from urging investing in foreign markets and buying foreign currency. It’s understandable. But what about ordinary souls who have to deal with a collapsing state, or as some would say a state that has already collapsed?
Hard times are here because of no economic plan for the past 15 years and more. Instead we have seen a vicious deindustrialisation plan, goodness knows why. Energy costs which should be a driver of the economy have been captured and are fuelling and lining the pockets of corrupt officials.
It’s a tragic state of affairs. Not too long ago upstanding citizens became officials of a country, a province, a town. Now look at who’s ruling. Criminals. The lowlifes of society.
Mr Frog Pot Boiler is protecting corrupt people these days although he will never eat his words about what he proclaimed about treating minorities. In fact, it is a minority now of corrupt officials that “govern“ the majority.
There are ways to survive in a collapsed country but those will not be made public on this platform.
