These American companies are destroying South African heritage food products

Yankees go home. That’s the way many South Africans are feeling about PepsiCo destroying ProNutro, a heritage product much loved by South Africans.

This American company PepsiCo has changed the machinery which is now grinding out different texture and taste of the beloved ProNutro.

PepsiCo and Pioneer Foods should hand back Bokomo to the original owners before they ruin everything.

Why is this happening? Greed, greed, greed.

Next thing PepsiCo will get rid of other South African products that they have bought. They are already trying to Americanise South African products like the Wellingtons tomato sauce which they are making an alternative variant of to taste like ketchup. Well if South Africans want to buy ketchup, they’ll buy it from Heinz, thank you.

Let’s not get stuck into how Pepsico is manipulating their own brand like Fritos. The barbecue variant only now comes in big pack sizes and you can hardly ever find the small sizes. Perhaps they are getting ready to ditch the barbecue Fritos. ?

Who knows with these people? What lengths will they go to?

How American companies are allowed to buy South African food companies boggles the mind. How can the authorities allow this? South African food company should stay in South African hands. Don’t South Africans have enough money to buy South African companies? Come on. ?This is wrong.
