By Shaun Hollick, our foreign correspondent on UK and European news. With his museroom set up in the small village of Derby, he is ideally positioned to bring us alternative views on current reality.

Look at the goosepimpled flesh, restrained by tight transparent plastic.

Trussed up with legs in the air …. giblets stuffed into an orifice. Frozen solid.Vegetarians are horrified. Carnivores less so. Supermarket butcher’s are delighted. Points of view are all relative.

The stance of the chicken is a position of weakness.

Defence impossible.

We are told the second hand proteins from meat are necessary for our life. Is nature by volition so cruel.

Or is it our limited understanding of the environment that waxes harsh.

I personally suspect it is the latter.

So perhaps the supermarkets of the future will negotiate for all the useless dead flesh that has found its way from wealthy sources into frozen vaults….cryonically preserved as it was in life….ignorant of and in a world that charges regardless.
