I sat down on the beach, right next to the sea, this morning, drinking my first cup of coffee of the day.

The sun came out after an overcast morning, and the beach was instantly warm. A few people were Already swimming in the surf, people were walking the beach, and those who were going to stay longer had already put up their beach umbrellas.

I was sitting there thinking of how time flies. We’ve heard it so often that we’ve become blase about it. I think Solomon put it best when he said, live your life, because when you’re dead you’re going to spend a lot longer time there.

In business, time becomes extremely valuable. You have to make the most of your time, whatever you do.

There’s no time to waste, as they say. Time is money. Money makes the world go round, but it’s really time that makes the world go round.

We need to take time out to relax and reflect. It’s great to do things that re-energize you.

After the coffee, I went into the water and did a 150 meter swim. When I came out, I was out of breath and my heart was beating faster. All of these are healthy signs. Exercise is so invigorating for your body and health.

Mental health is something that has become more prominent and recognized in workplaces. But workplaces are generally way, way behind in accommodating people and seeing to their health.

It’s rare that a boss will say to you, you’ve worked so hard, go take some time off, take a few days off and relax. Refresh yourself.

It requires empathy from the boss. I came across a CEO who recognizes that her staff put in long hours in her restaurant business chain and she will give them time off so that they can go and relax.

We all know that it’s not good to sit around doing nothing for too long. It’s in our makeup to get busy. Of course, we have to get busy on the right things.

Some people long to sit around doing nothing, but it leads to boredom and boredom is the closest state to death. It leads to depression and low self-esteem.
