This is the big question. Energy is a very precious thing. In our modern lives, there are so many things working against our energy.
I went to a park play session this weekend and was interested to find that the various activities, even as an observer, helped to let a new energy flow inside of you.
I think when you get to a certain age, you start to lose that useful energy. Yet, and it’s so important to try to tap into that youthful vigour for life in any way you can.
The things that I find so difficult are forcing myself to do activities that I don’t like, such as administration on the laptop, and so on. It’s a different kind of energy that you have to muster to face these kinds of tasks and complete them. Yet when they are finished, I often feel a sense of relief that the thing is over and I can go about my life again.
What is it that brings energy flow into your life?
I think various forms of exercise, such as dancing, meditation, walks with trees along the pathway, or, of course, on the beach, can change your energy state.
But more important, and this is just to recognise where your energy state is every day and during the course of the day. Some times your energy is high, medium, and other times it is low. I think maybe the secret is to adjust your activities around those energy levels so that you can make the most of them. It was a fantastic exposure to the freeing up and loosening of energy. That evening I immediately felt more vigour in myself and slept better.
As a result, Monday seems to be a different day than usual struggle. And that’s where it gets terrible: every day seems like a struggle, and everything seems like a struggle, especially with what is going on around us in a bad economy: people not wanting to buy stuff, hate speech against groups especially minority groups.
There is enough bad energy around to really bring you down. That’s why it’s so important to reinvigorate yourself with energy flows that you can quite simply achieve through small exercises, posture, and finding time to relax and be aware of your surroundings.
