To succeed in life and business, one quality stands out: faith. Without it, navigating the complexities of our world becomes a Herculean task. Faith, or belief if you prefer a more neutral term, is the foundation upon which we build our resilience and tenacity.

At times, I’ve felt like Willy Loman from “Death of a Salesman,” clinging to hope with little more than a smile and a shoeshine. It’s amazing how we as humans face seemingly insurmountable challenges, yet somehow, we pull through. This spirit of fortitude, this inner drive, is what keeps us moving forward even when the odds are stacked against us.

Faith in ourselves is crucial. It means trusting our capabilities and strengths. It means believing in our vision, even when others doubt us. This faith is not blind optimism but a steadfast confidence that we can overcome obstacles and achieve our goals.

In business, faith propels us through the tough times. When sales are down, when the market shifts, when competitors seem unbeatable, it is faith that fuels our persistence. This inner belief keeps us focused and driven, helping us to find solutions and new paths when the old ones are blocked.

Moreover, faith in others is equally important. Building successful relationships, whether with colleagues, clients, or partners, requires a mutual trust and belief in shared goals. This collective faith can transform a struggling venture into a thriving enterprise.

In essence, faith is the invisible force that drives us forward. It is the quiet confidence that despite the setbacks, despite the challenges, we will find a way. Without this faith, making our way in life and business would be infinitely harder.

If you are facing the challenges of a new venture, moving to a new city or suburb, immigrating to a new country, starting a new business, even beginning a new relationship, then perhaps faith or belief will be important to you. You can read all the books you want and listen to all the YouTube videos, but faith is something that you need to think about and examine internally. Think of times in your life when you have gone out, on a limb, to achieve something, and what helped you on your journey. I remember Dr. Wayne Dwyer saying that life is not about when you see it, you’ll believe it, but rather the subtle and important difference of when you believe it, you’ll see it. Some people get into woo-woo stuff, and claim to help you on your journey with manifesting your dreams and whatever. I’ve not really been someone who buys into that. I think you have your own psychic sense and can deal with whatever hand life deals you with. Find out the qualities that drive you and nurture them. Also look at others and see how their lives are panning out for them and what has been driving them.
