At this time of the year, before Christmas, and a few days away from the New Year, it’s good to look at where your money has gone and where you got it from.
I saw today that someone said money is the currency of freedom. It certainly gives you the freedom to go where you want, live where you want, and buy what you want.
But at a deeper level, it’s freedom from others. You don’t need to rely on others. You don’t need to live on handouts.
Now, I’ve seen some dire warnings about the economy in 2024. Some have even gone so far as to say there will be a collapse in markets.
If anything like that does happen, who will survive and who will thrive?
Yes, money gives you the freedom to weather the storm when the economy is bad.
It also gives you freedom in the sense of having the basic necessities in life. You need to live. You need food. You need beverages. You need clothing. You need a place to sleep. ?You want entertainment. You want to pursue passions that interest you.
Some have said that money is like oxygen. It’s usually said in the context of small business where cash is like oxygen, because without it, the business starves and dies.
But for the individual, money is also like oxygen. When you have very little or none of it, it’s extremely hard to live.
It’s a strange thing that money and its acquisition are not taught in schools.
As soon as you leave school, your whole life will consist of the search to make money.
Starry-eyed people will scoff at this, but where did they get their money from? Was it from an inheritance? Was it from a benefactor? It’s certainly difficult to come in from a small income opportunity.
Of course, there are people who are in the right place at the right time with the right product and make a pretty decent living.
What are you going to do about income sources in 2024?
Are you going to sit back and just let things ride or slide?
Or are you going to plan to raise your income and look for new sources of income?
