A UK insurer will provide policyholders with a device to generate video footage of a crash using Google’s virtual mapping service.
The device will communicate to the car insurer how the customer was driving, including the speed, location and direction of impact, acceleration and braking immediately before and during the accident, according to an article in the Financial Times.
The software runs the data through Google’s virtual mapping service to reconstruct the accident in the car insurance claims room. It doesn’t show the presence of other cars but tells how the driver was behaving in the moments leading up to the crash.
It’s amazing how many fraudulent claims take place in the UK. Insurers reportedly receive about 380 fraudulent claims deadly, which costs the industry a fortune.
Isn’t it alarming how many people are ready to take advantage of getting away with “something for nothing”?
We all see how quick larger and medium-size businesses try to take small businesses for a ride. They chisel away quotes that have already been cut to the bone by hard-pressed suppliers and freelancers. Staff steal from their employers. Customers collude with staff to legally remove product out of retail stores. A car insurer increases your monthly payment by 22% to nail you for an accident to your car 18 months back.
How do you prevent the theft and losses that takes place in your personal life and business?
One way is to come up with new preventative solutions. This is where new ideas, new concepts and innovation is required. Idea generation methods help you to reduce loss, cut down on waste, and close the gaps that people use to get away with taking from you.
